CTG UK provides Project Management Office as a Service to Major UK Telecommunications Organisation
CTG UK provides Programme Management Office (PMO) / Project Support services to organisations to help deliver key business projects and fill required resource gaps.
Recently CTG UK has provided support to a major telecommunications organisation, providing a resource in Project Support and Management.
The Client
The telecommunications organisation is a large, business leading, phone network provider across the UK. The organisation has many projects running concurrently, many interfaces to collaborate with, several stakeholders to manage to ensure operations run smoothly and team members and third parties remain engaged.
Business Challenges
The organisation was working on a major upgrade project that required a large amount of coordination, stakeholder management and reporting both internally and externally. With limited time and resources to deliver this project, CTG UK was able to provide a solution in an extra Project resource.
CTG UK and the telecommunications organisation worked closely together to enable a smooth integration of a PMO resource into the project, where they worked closely with the Programme Manager and technical team to deliver the project.
The PMO resource provided wide-ranging support, including:
- Stakeholder management with the client, including; external suppliers and contractors, internal management, financial, project teams and technical subject matter experts
- Coordination, facilitation and tracking of meetings with the client, external suppliers and internal teams delivering the project
- Maintaining financial trackers
- The creation and delivery of weekly and monthly reports to the client
- RAID log maintenance and reviews
- Review and transmission of documents to the client
- Tracking of deliverables
The large upgrade project was delivered, and further projects have commenced within the telecommunications organisation. While full time PMO support is no longer required, the organisation still relies on the additional resources to provide PMO support across a number of other projects, on a part time basis demonstrating the flexibility this service offers.
